Helen founded Willow Hair in December 2009. Originally from Australia, Helen has worked and managed salons in Sydney, Adelaide, Los Angeles and California’s Bay Area.

Helen is not currently taking new clients. Her focus is on the salon’s direction, training new and upcoming stylists and taking care of her select longtime clients.

Helen began her career with a four-year apprenticeship at Gentiles in Adelaide, Australia, one of the country’s most respected salons. She trained under Vidal Sassoon-trained owner Tony Gentile in the Sassoon methodology before moving to Sydney, where she took a management role at Split Enz, a high end salon in Neutral Bay. She later moved to London, where she saw clients at the Palace Court Hotel in Bayswater, then to Los Angeles, where she participated in styling for film, commercials, and print work in LA and New York, as well as continuing to work in salons in Venice, California.
Her continuing education includes Schwarzkopf Color Educator training in Los Angeles, Bumble and bumble, and Trevor Sorbie, Sam Villa and Pivot Point cutting certifications. She has been in the hair and beauty industry since 1981 — and is still excited and always looking forward to what comes next.
